A Conversation About Conversational Writing

Posted by Connie Reece on November 27, 2020 at 10:20 pm

Today I had the privilege of presenting at a writing workshop for the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) in San Antonio. Most of the 40+ attendees had no experience with social media or were in the very early stages of discussing how it might fit within their corporate communications strategy.

I promised to share my slides with the attendees and offer them here, although they may not make much sense to those who weren’t in the session.

Thank you to the organizers for inviting me and for the attendees who participated … and those with their eyes rolled back in their heads because they were trying to absorb a lot of new information at once. I hope you got something out of it.

Connie, You were great on Anna’s podcast (yes, I just got to it). Coming to your website, I found out I missed the presentation in San Antonio. Looking at your slides, I would say it would have been a worthwhile trip.

I’m subscribed now, so I won’t miss more of your events close at hand. Thanks.

Hey Connie,

It was great meeting you at Mic Night over on Liz’s website! I can tell I’m going to enjoy everything you have to write here :)

What I love best about blogging, is the fact that it’s an extension of ourselves and the conversation is accessible 24/7. Of course the tough part is finding that voice…the voice that is “you” and that is going to appeal to everyone. Finding that voice is the first obstacle and primary goal…after that, everything comes easy.
